My date and I got a case of the giggles from an unusual source. Before we left for the date, I had run directions to this restaurant on Mapquest. He had run directions to the same restaurant on Google. After we realized we were lost, we stopped at a gas station. I got out to get directions. Before getting too far, I saw two college students and asked them for directions. The man was pointing down the road as he explained how to get there.
Half way through his directions, he started to point in the opposite direction, saying to me, “Maybe it would be best to go that way instead.” I stood there, looking down at the Google map my date had had in his car but was then in my hands, trying my best not to offend this young man by starting to laugh at him and his directions. To fuel my warped sense of humor even more, various thoughts went through my head as I stood there staring down at the map in my hands:
* Would it be rude to simply say “thank you” and go inside the store to get directions.
* A flash of image from the “Wizard of Oz” as the scarecrow pointed in two directions simultaneously.
* My date sitting there in the car, witnessing these hand directions without hearing the words attached to them and willing me to “go inside the store to ask for directions.”
I did eventually say “thank you” to the young couple but opted to return to the car instead of going inside. While I was standing there staring at my date’s Google map, it hit me that our maps were nowhere alike. According to his map, we passed the restaurant, which was located near an intersection with which I was familiar.
Once inside the car, I looked at him to explain why I didn’t opt to proceed inside for further directions, but the look of confusion on his face made me finally lose control of my warped sense of humor. As I sat there trying to explain through my tears and bouts of uncontrolled laughter, he found the situation contagious and began to laugh too.Click On One Of The Links Below For More Fun Reads

Most important thing: have a fun, laugh-filled life. Don't let people rattle your cage. Be safe: Treat flattery like bubblegum: chew it; enjoy it; spit it out - don't swallow it. Educate with humor. Laugh while learning. There is no better humor than the facts of life. Laughter serves as a psychological healing balm rubbed upon our emotional wounds. - Bree
